A Salesian Education

Founded by Saint John Bosco and Saint Mary Mazzarello in Italy in 1872, the Salesian Sisters, formally known as the Daughters of Mary, Help of Christians, are dedicated to the care of youth.

St. John Bosco's educational philosophy, called The Preventive System, uses "Reason, Religion, and Loving Kindness" to reach the heart of the youth and lead them to holiness.

This motto, though over 100 years old, remains, to this day, the foundation for the spirit of Villa Madonna's faculty, staff, students and families.

Education is a matter of the heart. 

There are four elements present in every Salesian work that brings about the growth of the whole child: a Home that welcomes, a School that educates for life, a Church that evangelizes, and a Playground where children have fun. This means that whether in the classroom, during recess, or in the chapel, the young person feels at home, has opportunities to grow as a student and a Christian, all while having fun!

The family spirit that is palpable in all Salesian schools is rooted in respect: seeing the good in each young person.  It is a spirit of optimism and cheerfulness that brings the youth to a deeper relationship with Jesus.

The Salesian charism reaches every member of the Villa Madonna family, which includes faculty, staff, students, and parents. So much so, that long after students graduate, they still know they are part of the family and come to give back to our school.  Once a Salesian, always a Salesian!
